Pizza Tour
Correspondent Jenna Wolfe's Today Show segment about Tony Muia and his "A Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour".
submitted by Johanna and Michael
Tony Muia, owner/operator of "A Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour", appears as one of the judges on an episode of the Food Network's "Food Detectives" about New York City pizza. The show tries to dispel the myth that New York City water is what makes New York City pizza so great, so they had John LaFemina (the chef from Apizz in Manhattan) make three different doughs with water from New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. The judges, along with host Ted Allen, were asked to try and figure out if there really is a difference. The judges included Tony Muia, comedian Mario Cantone, Joey Ciolli of Grimaldi's and John LaFemina.
Light bulb terrariums

From The Steamed Glass Studio at Etsy.com. Constructed from an actual incandescent bulb, mosses, stones and lichens are at home within the beautiful glass shape of what we will always remember as the "light bulb". An artistic way to celebrate "Green" awareness while remembering a simple household item that has been with us for generations.
Artist's comment:
THE TERRARIUM AS AN ART -
The living dioramas I create are designed to represent a scenic sampling of our natural world. Mosses, river stones, lichens and bark create a tiered landscape inside the clear glass bulb. In my opinion, the traditional shape of the incandescent light bulb is beautiful by itself, but I've found that it makes a very unique terrarium container. I had come across many graphics that symbolized "green awareness" with a light bulb shape and a green leaf inside - this was my spark. After making my first one, the wire hanger stand came as a natural extension to support the "green" theme. As new ideas came, I thought of adding color to the glass to heighten the artistic appeal. This lead to different themes that combine the landscape on the inside with stained glass art painted on the outside.
I surprised myself with the results and really love the way each design delivers it's own intrinsic beauty using relatively simple shapes and materials.
A well designed terrarium will stir your imagination and could transport you into a daydream. Look very closely, and you may see yourself as a child exploring the landscape within.
