The Legend of Boruta

The year is 1939; Nazi Germany has recently invaded Poland, and many small towns and villages have already become victims of the German raid. A regiment of Nazi soldiers arrive upon a small church nestled in the sprawling wheat fields surrounding a small town. As they enter the church grounds, a low-ranking soldier is ordered into the catacombs deep beneath the church to search for valuables and items of historical and cultural significance for appropriation.

The concept of the film is derived from an old Polish legend that originates from the small town of Leczyca, Poland. The town - consequently, also Bartek's home town - though small, is saturated with old churches, cathedrals, art, architecture, stories and legends, all of which have inspired him to create his first film.

Off the Track

There are not many residents of Coquina Crossing who have a high profile on the Internet. Betsy and Kal moved in just yesterday. I met them while walking Lola. They are interesting folks and you will likely meet them soon. Betsy has a couple websites here and here.

Off the Track, a nonviolent, funny story set in today's world, follows the adventures of three greyhounds. Meet Libby, a retired sports superstar; Precious Princess (PP), a gorgeous former show dog; and Faun, a runt of an Italian greyhound who, by her behavior, deserves being called the Nut. They tell you about their exciting past and present situations. You experience through their eyes, how one becomes a heroine; another finds a rewarding career in helping others as a therapy dog, and the other . . . turns things topsy-turvy.  review1 review2
