Brian Keith

If you have been reading Coquina Daily over the past year, you may recall that Brian Keith, a sculptor in California, has been creating a multi-sculpture installation that tells the story of a World War Two avaitor who is relating the fascination of flying to his grandaughter. Inspiration for the grandfather character came from photos and articles about residents of Coquina Crossing. Brian has periodically sent photos of the pieces as he completed them. This is the lastest news of the project.

Ralph,

I thought you would like to see some of the pictures of the recently installed 'Imagine' series of sculptures for the Blackhawk Plaza.  This was an incredible journey to take part of.
Please let your readers know of the appreciation I have for them as veterans.  The fight they fought for our freedom has planted a deep appreciation in my heart for what is often taken for granted.  They are the ones who inspired this character I developed in this story.  The Grandfather in this series is dedicated to the WWII veterans who showed their courage in times where other men would have run away.  He is a grandfather who has a perspective on life that shows through the smile he has on his face as he rides on a swan ready for take-off.  It is the man with a deep character that has been through so much, and seen life as it is, and still laughs joyfully because life is not over yet, but really just begun.  He allows himself to be a kid at heart with his imagination soaring.

Thank you,

Brian
