Polar bears at Coquina Crossing

They didn't have to chip a hole in the ice to take the plunge, but it was brisk nonetheless. And to assure the correct ambiance, Frank brought in several blocks of ice (which can be seen floating in the water). The spectators were sensibly dressed in sweaters and jackets.

Final performance

So you call this retirement? will be staged for a special encore performance to benefit Coquina Crossing Troop Support and AnyVeteran.org. Proceeds will be used for postage to mail packages to battle zone U.S. troops and the production of educational documentaries about U.S. military veterans. The show starts at 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2009, in the Coquina Crossing clubhouse. Tickets are $12.00. Wine and cheese will be served at intermission. Featured will be a sneak preview of the up-coming documentary, Korea, Forgotten War, Remembered Heroes which includes interviews of residents of Coquina Crossing who served in the Korean War.
