L.A.M.P. - Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program

The St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum has funded maritime archaeology in St. Johns County, Florida, since 1997. In 1999, the Lighthouse formalized its maritime archaeology program, creating the Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program, or LAMP. LAMP is one of the few research units in the nation employing full-time professional marine archaeologists and an archaeological conservator that is not guided by a university or governmental entity. This unique organization has produced a body of research contributing both to the museum's interpretive potential, and more importantly to an under-represented portion of St. Augustine's history.  link

St. Augustine political interviews

If you are interested in local politics, this may be informative. StAugustine.com (the St. Augustine Record) has recorded interviews of many of the candidates for local office. The videos are available here. Above is the interview of three candidates for Mayor - Joe Boles, Roger Jolley and Bill Lennon.

The wild west - then and now

For his landmark book, "Arizona Then and Now," photographer Allen Dutton traveled across the state to recapture archival images from their exact original location. There are many more images at the KAET website (copyright keeps me from showing them here). When you get to the website, hover your mouse pointer over the photo to see the "now" image.

Wide-eyed

Apparently you just can't be beautiful enough. A new Asian fad is colored contacts that make your eyes look bigger. A conspicuous feature of Japanese anime art is oversized eyes. Men who are fans of anime seem to think the look is sexy and women are eager to get "the look."   link
