Located at 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218
A 569 acre property is the site of the new national ceme-
tery to serve the burial needs of North Florida and South
Georgia veterans. Veterans whose discharges are other than
dishonorable, their spouses and dependent children may be
buried in a national cemetery, regardless of where they live.
Burial benefits for eligible veterans include a burial flag, a
Presidential Memorial Certificate and a government head-
stone or marker.
The new cemetery is North of the Jacksonville International Airport
and about five miles from Interstate 295. The cemetery will serve
189,000 veterans in the region who are not currently provided burial
space by a nearby national or state veterans cemetery. Burials are ex-
pected to start before the end of the year.
Information on VA burial benefits can be obtained from national
cemetery offices, from the internet at www.cem.va.gov or by calling
VA regional offices toll-free at 1-800-827-1000.
