A quiz for people who know everything

These are not trick questions.  They are straight questions with straight answers.

1.  Name the one sport in which neither the spectators nor the participants
know the score or the leader until the contest ends.

2.  What famous North American landmark is constantly moving backward?

What are the only two perennial vegetables?

4.  What fruit has its seeds on the outside?

5.  In many liquor stores, you can buy pear brandy, with a real pear inside

hasn't been cut in any way.  How did the pear get inside the bottle?

6.  Only three words in standard English begin with the letters "
dw" and they are all common words.  Name two of them.

7.  There are 14 punctuation marks in English grammar.  Can you name
at least half of them?

No arms

We showed some videos a few days ago of people with no arms doing remarkable things. This video goes beyond the remarkable to the mundane. I don't know the background of the film - the narration is in an oriental language. It runs about ten minutes and it is worth every second of your time.

Flag Day at Coquina Crossing

Forty nine retired flags were disposed of by burning as part of a respectful ceremony by the Coquina Veterans on Saturday.

In the background is a special flag that has come home to Coquina Crossing. The flag was presented to Mr. Peter Schulz on his retirement from the Air Force. It had been flown over the capitol building in Washington and Mr. Schulz donated it for the use of the Veteran's color guard.  There is another very meaningful aspect to that flag which is that it has actually flown in a war zone.

Through correspondence with the commander at Camp Lowell in Afghanistan, it was arranged to have the flag flown over the camp for the Coquina Veterans.  They were very honored to be able to dedicate this flag while celebrating Flag Day at the clubhouse in Coquina Crossing.
