        co KEY nah

What is it?
        1. Coquinas are small clams of the genus Donax.  They are about 3/4 inch long and can be found in a variety of colors from almost white to pink, red, green, blue, mauve and purple.  The colors are usually banded and striped.  Coquinas can be found burrowing in a sandy beach. They can be glimpsed when waves wash away the sand and briefly expose the coquinas before they burrow back under the surface.
