The Story Beyond The Still - Chapter 5: Miracle

The Story Beyond The Still is a contest sponsored by Canon and Vimeo in which contestants are asked to continue a story based on the last still image seen in a video. This is the fifth of five (so far - the next winner will not be announced for a few weeks - follow the story here). The story starts with a still image of a teddy bear lying in the rain at a cab-stand (Chapter 1). From the contest rules:

All film entries must begin with the still image concluding the previous winning chapter, which must then be recreated or reinterpreted to begin your film entry. All film entries must also end on a still image of your own.

The Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Twenty-two years ago, Morning Edition launched what has become an Independence Day tradition: hosts, reporters, newscasters and commentators reading the Declaration of Independence.

It was 234 years ago today that church bells rang out over Philadelphia, as the Continental Congress adopted Thomas Jefferson's draft of the Declaration of Independence. NPR

Vuvuzela Concert

Brahms and Ravel played on the Vuvuzela. If you were watching the World Cup, you know what that is. An exclusive performance in the Konzerthaus Berlin.

Farewell

I do not know how many regular viewers that Coquinadaily.com has, but I do know that it will be missed. Thank you for all that you do to make life at Coquina such fun. - Pat & Tom

With great sorrow, I read your message on today's edition of the Coquina Daily. Through the time that you were at the helm, I thanked you for your diligence and ingenuity. Our community will miss this service tremendously. You have done a very good job, provided a great opportunity for residents like me each morning to see what's happening at CCX. There will be a great void in my mornings as I sit here and find other things to 'jump start' my day. I wish you well in your 'retirement' and in future endeavors. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! - Ron

I am sorry that you are ending the Daily. It was a morning ritual with me, I read it before my morning coffee. It will be missed. I always appreciated all you have done to make the Daily interesting and a success. - Michael

Sad news today about the coming end of CoquinaDaily.com. I've really enjoyed it throughout the years. You did an excellent job, Ralph. I just want to say thank you for all your hard work. It will be missed. - Rita

Just a note to congratulate you on all the fine work you have done on the web site. I feel it has been a great service to our community. Sorry to see you end it. A "well done" to you and a heartfelt thanks for your service. - Dean

We are so sorry to read that the Coquina Daily is ending. We thoroughly enjoyed reading it and certainly will miss it. Thank you for the many years you provided us with it. - Wally and Margie

Thank you for your years of effort in putting forth Coquina Daily. I have really enjoyed the wide range of entertainment you have included and, perhaps more interesting, the Coquina people and events that keep us up to date while we cool our heels in New Hampshire during the summer. Again, many thanks and we look forward to seeing you in the fall. - Lois and Paul

I will miss the Coquina Daily. Sorry to see you go. - Carolyn

Ralph, Thank you for all the hard work you have put into Coquina Daily. Your publication was an oasis of calm in our hectic world. I am sorry to see it end. - Lisa
And thank you to all who have supported Coquina Daily over the last three years and over the last 1100+ issues. Henry has expressed an interest in putting the Coquina Daily archive on the HACC website. I have realized there are technical problems in moving the archives to a new web server. If I can solve the problems, the archives will be moved by the end of the month.
